JWorld Quest ("we", "our", or "the app") is a children's educational app designed for kids aged 0–16. Protecting the privacy of children is our highest priority. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices parents have.

Parent / Guardian Account
- Email address (via Google Sign-In or email registration)
- Display name (from your Google profile, if used)
- Authentication tokens (stored securely, never shared)
Child Profile Entered by parent
- Child's first name and age
- Chosen avatar / theme preference
In-App Activity Data
- Learning game scores and stars earned
- Stories listened to / videos watched
- Daily usage time (minutes per session)
We do not collect location data, device identifiers beyond those required for authentication, or any biometric data — biometric unlock (Face ID / fingerprint) is processed entirely on the device and is never transmitted to our servers.

- Track and display learning progress to parents
- Enforce daily screen-time limits set by parents
- Personalise content recommendations based on the child's age
- Maintain account security and prevent unauthorised access
🔒 Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Limited data sharing occurs only in these cases:
- Google Sign-In (optional) – if you choose Google login, Google's authentication service processes your email. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Cloud Storage – audio, video, and image content is served from secure object storage (MinIO / S3-compatible). No personal user data is stored there.
- Legal requirements – we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.
👶 Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)
JWorld Quest is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations including GDPR for children (GDPR-K).
- Children cannot create accounts — only parents / guardians can register.
- We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the service.
- Parents can view, edit, or delete any child profile at any time from within the app.
- We do not show behavioural advertising to child users.
- We do not allow children to share personal information publicly (no chat, no user-generated posts).
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without parental consent, please contact us immediately at j.jebin1990@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
🛡️ Data Security
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+).
- Passwords are hashed — we never store plaintext credentials.
- Authentication uses short-lived JWT tokens with refresh rotation.
- Our servers are protected by firewalls and access controls.

🗑️ Data Retention & Deletion
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated child profiles at any time from the app's profile settings. Upon deletion:
- All child profiles and activity data are permanently removed within 30 days.
- Parent account credentials are deleted immediately.
- Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics (no personal identifiers) may be retained for service improvement.
✏️ Your Rights
As a parent or guardian you have the right to:
- Access – request a copy of data we hold about your child.
- Rectify – correct inaccurate profile information from within the app.
- Delete – remove child profiles and account data at any time.
- Portability – request an export of your data.
- Withdraw consent – stop using the app and request full deletion.

🔄 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify parents via the email address on file and update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
